Cone Beam (CBCT)
Cone Beam is a 3D imaging technique used to examine bone structures, as well as for dental and maxillofacial applications. It is more accurate than a conventional X-ray and involves less radiation than a CT scan.
The preferred imaging modality for evaluating implants, sinuses, and wisdom teeth; detecting fractures; and providing a more detailed assessment of bone structures in general.
This exam is covered by insurance and does not require any specific preparation. For a dental CT scan, the referral must be issued by a stomatologist or a dentist.
You must let us know if you are pregnant or might be pregnant.
All removable dental appliances, earrings, and piercings must be removed.
The device rotates around the area to be scanned while you remain still, whether sitting or standing. The scan takes less than a minute.
