Bone Densitometry
This test measures your bone mineral density to diagnose osteoporosis. It is essential for assessing your risk of fracture and allows for the implementation of an appropriate preventive care plan and monitoring of changes in your bone mass.
You must not have had an exam using a contrast agent (barium, iodine) in the preceding days.
No special preparation is needed. Wear clothing without zippers or metal buttons.
As you lie on a table, a scanning arm moves over you to measure the density of your vertebrae and hips.
