X-ray
An X-ray is a quick and painless test that uses low-dose X-rays to produce images of bones and joints. It makes it easy to detect fractures, wear and tear, or abnormalities. It is the most common medical imaging test and can be performed with a simple doctor’s prescription.
Please be sure to let us know if you are pregnant or may be pregnant so that we can adjust the exposure doses accordingly.
Remove metal objects: Before the exam, it is important to remove all metal objects from the area to be X-rayed. This includes jewelry, piercings, glasses, belts, or any other accessories that could interfere with the image.
An X-ray can only be performed upon presentation of a referral from a general practitioner or a specialist.
No special preparation is required. You will simply be asked to remove any jewelry or metal objects from the area to be examined.
The technician will position you in front of the machine. You will need to remain still for a few seconds while the image is being taken.
